From 2020 through 2024, 340 people died in 316 crashes on Vermont roads. That is 10.5 deaths a year for every 100,000 residents, below the US rate of 12.1, and the 35th highest rate of the 50 states and DC.

Chittenden County had the most deaths (48). The road stretch with the most fatal crashes was SR-105 in Franklin County (14). In 2024, 59 people were killed, 5% fewer than in 2020.
