How it is paid: Scheduled losses: 55% of your average monthly wage for the number of months in the schedule (75% if the loss of use keeps you from returning to the work you were doing). Unscheduled permanent partial disability: 55% of the difference between your average monthly wage before the injury and your reduced monthly earning capacity.

Injuries not on the chart

Arizona pays scheduled permanent partial disability (A.R.S. 23-1044(B)): months in the schedule x 55% of the average monthly wage (75% if the loss keeps the worker from the job held at injury; partial loss of use is prorated), in addition to temporary total disability. Any injury not on the schedule is paid as 55% of the monthly loss of earning capacity (23-1044(C)), as set by the Commission when the condition is stationary, for as long as the disability lasts. All amounts use an average monthly wage capped at $6,131.00 for 2026 injuries.

What a settlement adds or takes away

The chart is the statute's payment for a permanent injury. A lump-sum settlement can differ: it may also close out future medical care or wage loss, and the insurer and the judge must agree. A workers' comp lawyer in Arizona can tell you what your rating is likely to be.
